Have you looked at your retirement account now and feel that you just can’t retire? Are you closing in on retirement age and feel that you won’t be able to retire and live on the money you thought you had put away?
Many people have been put into a tough decision about retirement because of the economic fallout. Decisions like this can cause so much stress that you may have health issues. If you are almost at retirement age and you have been paying on your home, you may be eligible for a reverse mortgage.

Forget, at least for the moment, the million man march. What we need is a million men and women who will burn their credit cards. Yes, that is what I advocate!
For to long now the middle class has been at the mercy of the banks and other lenders who issue credit cards. Think for a moment about all the years you have made that damn payment, yet, the balance is never at 0 and you have to make a payment every month. Now is the time, once and for all, to walk away from the plastic. Actually, I would suggest keeping a debit card only. That way it is linked to what you have in your bank account. This would probably make you much more aware of how much you actually spend. If you do your banking on-line, you can check on the balance daily if you wish.
But I digress you need to talk to your friends, neighbors, post a message on craigs list or any other public website. I am serious, get out the barbecue grills and the starter fluid and invite everyone over. Dare one another to burn their cards. I guarantee that after the first one throws their cards into the fire others will follow. In case you are wondering I actually cut my up many months ago!
When the credit card statement comes the following month. Don’t pay it. When the calls come simply telll them you do not have the money. If they try to record you object that it is against Federal law to record someone without their consent. It is probably illegal in your state as well. Just so you understand DO NOT spend the money that you usually paid on the card. Put it in savings. When the next month rolls around, don’t pay. Same story as before. After the third or fourth month of not receiving any money from you make the bank an offer. Tell them you will give them .10 or .20 on the dollar. They will probably counter. Some banks will not even transfer your call to their settlement department as representatives can now extend offers themselves. (more…)
Are you drowned in deep credit card debt? If you are thinking of getting a debt management plan to solve your debt issues, there are some important points you need to consider. You have to keep in mind that this process may become ineffective under the following circumstances:
- In general, most of the debt management companies are not willing to work with you if your accounts are more than 60 days past due. If you have dragged the payment for more than 60 days, you are advised to negotiate with your creditors on your own.
- Bear in mind that you may not get the interest rates reduced on ALL of your unsecured debts even you have signed up for the plan. Sometimes, your creditors will not agree to reduce the interest rates as you request.
- We have to accept the fact that some of the large financial institutions or credit card providers will not agree to participate in the debt management plan. They still want their debtors to pay in full, or else, they will take legal action on their debtors. Unless all of your unsecured creditors participate, if not, it is no point for you to sign up the plan. You will not be able to save your money. You may incur more expenses by doing that.
- If your income is unstable currently and you are not able to keep up with your monthly payments, you are advised not to take up the plan because it will make your credit score worse. (more…)

Your credit history accounts for the amount of interest you’ve got to pay for a loan or a Mastercard. Augmenting your score in just a few points will make a big difference in the IR you will pay for a purchase. If your credit report is high enough, you could have no problem qualifying for a lender’s best rates and terms on auto financing, home loans and tiny business loans. The following are some tips about how it’s possible for you to protect and improve your credit history.
1.- Your credit report relies on your credit history, so you should start by ordering your reports and reviewing each one for accuracy. You can get your reports from a service like MyFico.com, or order from Equifax, Experian and Trans Union separately online or by phone.
2. – take a look at your credit score info for mistakes.
Check the identifying information for name, SSID number, birth date and wrong address. Make certain that old negatives and paid-off debts are removed. Check for accounts and delinquencies that are not yours, overdue payments, charge offs, lawsuits, judgments or paid tax liens older than seven years of age. Also, paid liens or judgments that are listed as unpaid, duplicate collections, bankruptcies that are older than a decade and any negative information that is not yours.
3. – Always Pay Your Bills punctually.
Payment history makes up more than a 3rd of the standard credit report. If you paid bills late in the past, you can improve your credit report by beginning to pay your debts in good time. Banks are searching for any sign that you could default, and a delinquent payment is a good indicator that you are in monetary difficulty. (more…)
